A Brief Overview of the Best Golf Courses in Vilamoura, Portugal

Portugal is known for its fabulous beaches, beautiful climate, and chilled out lifestyle; it is just a perfect place to come here for a full week of golf vacation. You can come here to soak Vitamin D, ride the gold cart, sip beer, smoke cigar, and enjoy the weather- you can do all this while playing your favorite sport, golf.

Vilamoura is just an ideal place to begin your golf vacation. Then, you can proceed to the Algarve coast, which offers you great seafood that is perfectly prepared. Apart from the scenic beauty of the place, there are world-class golf courses in Vilamoura that you just cannot afford to miss.

Oceanico - Vilamoura Victoria

Designed by A. Palmer in 2004, Oceanico Vilamoura Victoria is an 18-hole course spread over 6500 meters. This is the newest addition to the gems of Vilamoura golf resort. It gives you maximum challenges compared to all other courses. The terrain is fairly open and water hazards are beautifully crafted, which make it the masterpiece of Palmer.

Oceanico - Vilamoura Old

Designed by F. Pennink, Oceanico - Vilamoura Old is an 18- hole course spread across more than 6200 meters. This was the first course of Vilamoura, built in the year 1969. It went through extensive up gradation in 1997. The umbrella pines of the course will overwhelm you when you see them lined around even the tightest of fairways. Only a single water hazard is there. Exemplary level of green keeping is maintained along with the modern comfortable clubhouse.

Oceanico - Vilamoura Pinhal

This course was also designed by F. Pennink with par 72, 18 holes extended over 6300 meters. The style of Oceanico - Vilamoura Pinhal resembles the Old Course a lot, but you will observe more space amid the pines. A large area is covered by the holiday villas, which divide the course into three parts. You will find water hazards only at the last two holes.

Oceanico - Vilamoura Millennium

Designed by the architect, M. Hawtree, it is an 18-hole course with an area of more than 6100 meters. It shares the same clubhouse as that of Laguna Course and many golfers call it a bridge between the new and the old course. You will find some holes designed in the conventional Algarvian fashion, ambling through the pines. While some of the other holes are more open in approach.
